Different Types of Australian Visas Available

Applying for a visa a tricky process, so make sure you know what you should be looking for ahead of time. Below we've listed the types of visa available for Australia and what they each represent.

ETA Tourist Visa

As simple as it sounds, this visa allows you to travel through Australia as a tourist. The current limit on duration is one year but be sure you have enough funds to see you through as working on this visa is strictly prohibited.

Working Holiday Visa

This one is for anybody looking to live and work temporarily in Australia. Whether you are looking for a temporary foothold before you find permanency down under or if you are looking for a gap year location, this is the visa for you.

Skilled Migrant Visa

The skilled migrant visa is aimed at those who think they have something to offer Australia in terms of professional skills. It is often the best way to for someone to begin a permanent move to Australia as you enter under conditions that prove you are eligible for permanent residency. Not all professions are covered though, so do ensure that you research the requirements properly before applying to avoid you wasting any time.

The Family Visa

This final visa provides a way for permanent residents and citizens to reunite with family or dependents that are not currently either residents or citizens themselves. It is not points tested, like the skilled migrant visa, but it does require sponsorship by an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
